PROFESSIONAL:
“The Agate’s Edge Consulting” – a year-old start-up – is a diversified career facilitation services provider. We partner with companies in the IT, Embedded Systems, BFSI, Pharma & Biotech verticals to aid them in their quest for intellectual capital. 2008 will be a watershed year for us as we seek to gain further traction in terms of conversion targets, customer acquisition & geographical spread.
I also expect that we would be going in for a brand/image/name overhaul in the coming months - to position ourselves better to our target markets, to increase our mind share & to ensure top-of-mind recall. A website, too, is in the offing.
Another goal would be to move from a bootstrapping mode onto the path of greater profitability, one that will ensure sustained investments & faster growth. Investments are being made, as we speak.

PERSONAL:
As my son Rishi nears his first birthday, I would like to be able to spend more quality time with him & my wife, Aarti. Both Aarti & me want to be there for him as he waltzes (yes, he's already swinging to the music & walking up a storm everyday) into his 2nd year.
We would like to be there for him when he wants us to approve & appreciate his antics & wipe away his tears when he wakes up from a bad dream. We want to play with him, walk alongside him, stand behind him as he explores the world & equip him with the skills to boldly face the trials of life ahead.
To achieve all the above & balance the professional & personal demands on my time would require a healthy mix of discipline, time management, a calm mind & loads of sunny smiles to dispel the clouds - all qualities I am not naturally endowed with, but have to work on.
But as Napoleon said, "A LEADER is a dealer of HOPE!". So, with bucketloads of HOPE, oodles of CONFIDENCE & steely DETERMINATION, I charge forward into the new year, Aiming for the STARS!

I am really inspired and touched by reading your blog "My aim for the STARS in 2008".
I want you to know that I am your partner in whatever you are upto and you can count on me, not in your professional career but also otherwise..
You know, it takes courage for whatever you are upto and not everyone dares to do that. You should acknowledge yourself for that. I am proud that my bro-in-law is upto something great.
